Does anyone have an issue with get on the Alliance made ladder to go down from the roof, it seems to be very awkward compared to a standard ladder? Mark

Are you comparing the attached ladder on the back of the RV to a stand alone extension ladder?
The attached ladder is much steep than a stand alone, but I have no problem using the attached ladder

I'm comparing the Alliance made ladder to standard rv ladder with the rounded top. If you try to take the first step off the roof your shin will hit the very top rung, so you have to step on the support attach to the wall before being able to use the first step

Got it. Thanks for the picture. The ladder on my 2022 is not like that. It is more of the standard ladder that the rails loop up onto the roof.
I agree the ladder in the picture appears problematic.

Same with me. I'm on the taller side at 6' 02" with a 34" inseam.

My 24 310 has that ladder. Only problem is if wearing shorts and stepping down the corner of ladder will catch shorts. Have to go slow. Or maybe it’s just me.🤣

I have heard these ladders are built the way they are so they don't cover the back window when you're sitting inside. looking out you do not see the ladder

I'm not very good with heights as it is, and using the "conventional" RV ladders with the rounded top were easy for me to use. These, in my view, were safe. But these Alliance square tubed ladders, that end at the top, and that funky upside down V grab handle scare me. I'm 66, had no worries with our 2022 5th wheel, but I won't go up on this 2025 30BH. I'd rather rip it off and have a GOOD one installed.

I tend to disagree with this concept. Inspecting the roof often is (IMHO) a great way to make sure you have no issues. Looking for possbile damage is top priority for me. I get on the roof about 1x per month. I also use that time to clean solar panels....all 10 of them.
I agree with Jim, it is necessary to periodically inspect the roof.

I also agree with the others that the ladder on our Delta 292RL is down right dangerous. I'm a retired Telephone Engineer who's been up and down his share of ladders and I don't feel safe on this one. I also don't have any fear of heights, so that's not the issue. This ladder is super strong and sturdy but it should loop over the top and attach to the roof, like the ladders on our Grand Design trailers (26RLS and 2670MK). Instead of using a normal RV ladder Alliance put a single handle on the roof. Even with the handle it isn't easy getting off the roof. With the way it is, you can't actually see the ladder, as you're getting down. As a result, you have to feel for the ladder step with your foot and hope that your foot is securely on the ladder as you shift your weight. I ordered an additional handle for the roof, but I haven't installed it yet. I'm hoping having two handles will make it easier to get down. When the trailer is parked at home I only use a heavy duty extension ladder to go up on the roof. I'd like to use the trailer ladder only when traveling, so I can sweep off the slide roofs if needed before we pull them in. Our trailer has two slide outs and we can't put slide toppers on passenger side slide out because there isn't room to install it because of the awning, but that is a topic for another post.

This is the first RV we've had that I won't go up on. As Jim stated, I would do this monthly even when it wasn't being used.

Does anyone like or feel safe using the ladder. The top cross bar gets in the way when trying to step down on to the ladder, so the only option is to place one foot on the first support where it connects to the wall and then the other foot on the top step. Not sure if the support it rated for the full weight of a 60yr old man. Sounds like a real safety concern that Alliance should consider a fix.
