5th wheel hitching up issue

I have a roll up tonneau cover. It’s just tall enough when rolled up that I can’t see if the pin box is aligned straight on with my hitch. Looking for a solution. I was thinking maybe a magnetic base camera placed behind the pin so I can view it coming up to the hitch? Any other ideas? Thanks

I have the same problem. I suggest you pick a reference point on the truck that is centered & therefore lines up with the hitch (if you can find one). On my truck the center headrest has a small tab in the middle at the top that I can see in the mirror. Works pretty good, so much so I seldom miss.

If you don't have a natural centerpoint create one. Put a piece of tape in the center of your rear window or in the center of your rolled up tonneau cover as a reference. Also put a piece of reflective red or highly visible tape in center of hitch. Align the two marks as you back up.
The camera will be useful once you get close in. But alignment marks are good for getting close as you begin backing up.
