2026 Alliance Paradigm with no brakes!

We have a 2026 Alliance Paradigm and are on our third trip. Our first and second trip we took it back to Blue Compass because the brakes did not work correctly. They looked at them and told us they were fine. We are now traveling and we were getting ready to pull out of our camp this morning and saw a brake line hanging. After further investigation it was disconnected long enough to wear the connector end off. Our trip has now been interrupted and costing us more $$ to wait on repairs.

We are very fortunate that there was no accident.

I chalked it up to human error and not tightening it correctly or vibration over time. Now...I have applied torque seal to all those nuts/bolts and I can quickly see if they have come lose. Ours was on the passenger/door side...rear tire.

Do you have any theory on why it was off? We are wondering if it was loose from factory. What side did yous happen? Ours was on the left.
Hi guys, can either of you make a determination on why it came off? Obviously, a hydraulic system assuming disc brakes?

Did the caliper come loose? Did the suspension or tire contact it?

I have heard of caliper bolts backing out.

IS or standard spring suspension (just wondering)

Sure can...I lost a caliper bolt (see image) and that caused the entire disc brake assembly to rock up and back, thereby knocking the brake line with it. Mine is an IS system. I now lean in and inspect my bolts, with the torque seal.

My disk brakes fell off on my first trip. There was no locktight on the caliper bolts. Dexter replaced my rims, tires, and brakes, with no issue. I was lucky the failure happened in the last miles and was able to land it at my storage unit. My F350 can handle the trailer without brakes, with no problem!

Well...I just did again...I forgot to hook up the trailer electric pig tail to the truck bed connection. I didn't even notice it, pulling to the house to load the RV. I guess the additional weight of food, clothing and booze...made the brakes feel a bit soft...LOL!! I pulled over after 2 miles and figured it out......so another feather in the cap of a F350 dually....and another strike against my departure check list!! I guess running large scraper pans off the sides of 50' stock piles and other large equipment, just gives me a no fear mentality.

Interesting. Like @BryanValRox , I've herd of Caliper bolts backing out, but did not think it was as common as it seems to be on these rigs. I had to have someone else do my bearing repack and it was done at the National Rally by Ramblin Man (who was actually fantastic). He mentioned caliper bolts being both dry and loose is very common on MorRyde IS (mine were neither) and he added blue loctite.

In time you will learn to feel you have no brakes. I too have towed with no trailer brakes a time or 2. But I can tell/feel the trailer is without brakes and pushing on the truck. Not so easy to detect at low speeds say under 20 MPH. However once you get to about 30-35 or so I feel that I have no brakes and investigate.
As to not plugging in. Its always a good idea to make sure you're connected by turning on flashers checking trailers lights for the blinking.
Make it part of your routine

It was on the left side. One completely came off and the other loose. We believe they were hand tightened and not torque. We' took it back to dealer Blue Compass twice with complaint of soft to no brakes. We had then bleed them twice. They said everything looked good and have our truck checked. Our truck 3500 Ram dually was just fine.

Its independent suspension and electric over hydraulic.

Ours wS the same rear tire on passenger side.

I had heard of this. I have adjusted mine that I can feel a slight tug when I apply brakes and a release when I let off the brake. Very noticeable after you know what you are looking for. The trailer should pull just a little on the truck when braking.

Well...I come from the generation of Safety isn't first! Cat like reflexes, duct tape for any wounds, and a great strut if you are hurt, that says "I am OK"....LOL!!! You are right though...however I ain't right, as my wife tells me. All humor aside, it was interesting that I only felt the softer brakes, after loading the rig. Just glad the Dually F350 brake pads can handle my challenges! Disclaimer: No duct tape was needed and no animals or bikers were impacted!
