Well, my wife and I pulled the trigger on our dream of purchasing a 5th wheel toy hauler. We bought it from RV Connections in Panama City Beach Florida! We were so excited about our purchase and had it built to our spec . We saved money for fourteen years to do this! We are not wealthy. We ordered it in May and took it home in July 2025.
I have to honestly say I am extremely unsatisfied with the quality of the build! We have had nothing but electrical problems. When we first got it home, it seemed there was always an issue with getting either the solar or the generator to charge the battery. But it was working. (We ordered the solar plus package)
Our first trip last month (August) to Indiana our refrigerator stopped working, before we even left the driveway. We noticed the day we were leaving, it would not turn on. It had been working the week prior. Our fridge became a cooler for our trip, with us utilizing ice every day to keep some things cold. Our rear black tank flush port was also not working so we couldnt use the rear bathroom and I cant seem to get a straight answer on whether or not on the 2026 model the water bay flush port is for the main black tank or for both the main and rear?? We noticed a couple other small things that were broken/not working and added them to the list.
But we figured this was all things to be expected on the “shakedown cruise”.
On our way back from Indiana, we stopped at the RV Connections location in Dothan, Alabama due to it being closer to home. We gave them a list of all the things that needed to be addressed: the refrigerator, a broken hydraulic cabinet closure, a missing junction box cover, not to mention the absolute HORRID job they did with the wiring in the battery bay. So messy and unprofessional.
We were told no problem, service was looking at about a week turn around. Great. That was on Monday, August 18th.
Fast forward to yesterday, Saturday, September 27, we went and picked up our rig. Not because it was done being serviced, but because we have a big trip coming up on Friday to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We were told the refrigerator was fixed and one other minor thing from our list had been completed. They hadnt gotten to the other items because they were waiting on a part. No problem, we could bring it back after our trip and they would finish the repairs.
In the parking lot, while attempting to hook up to our truck, we noticed the battery was completely dead and the only way we could operate the jacks, was to have an employee plug us in to the 50amp shore power at the dealership. We figured it was strange that the battery was dead and the solar didnt seem to be charging it like it should. However we figured we could get the battery charged once we got home (which is only 15amp extension cord). Once we got home, our battery would not charge. We realized the refrigerator had been left on so we shut that off and unhooked from the truck. While attempting to autolevel, we got an error message on the jack leveling panel that we had low voltage. Our 15 amp service is not enough to operate the jacks. So now we are “dead in the water”. We cant raise it up enough to hitch it to the truck. Our generator will not charge the battery and is not enough to operate the jacks either.
So here we sit, on a Sunday, dealership service is closed, Alliance customer service is closed. Also, we purchased and extended warranty and were told we were enrolled in Route 66 service. However, I was never given any information regarding that membership or how to access any of the benefits. So, we were supposed to be spending the day cleaning our rig and getting it packed up for our celebratory trip but we cant even get the slides to open.
I really believe that Alliance should go above and beyond to make this right so we can use our RV on our trip. At this point, I cannot cancel reservations without losing ALOT OF MONEY!!!
HELP!!!!
