This valve stem kit is shorter than the OEM trailer TPMS kit that came with my Ram. The original stem is far too long and almost sticks out past the tire. These aren't perfect as they are very close to being "too short". According to correspondence with Schrader this is the best available alternative.

A problem with both kits is that the nut must be modified for our thick aluminum wheels. See attached photo. I used a belt sander to remove the unthreaded portion of the nut.

I also bought new rubber grommets. If it's the first install of the OEM stems just use that grommet but it should be replaced if already used once. Order one BOX of these as it's not a single grommet. Don't ask how I know. 🙄 $3.83/box (the shipping was very high though)
