KOA Journey Albuquerque, $55/night approx

Cleanest KOA we have visited so far

Details:
  • December 2021
  • Great wifi and cable
  • Clean city water
  • Cellular signal decent, TMobile.
  • Site 97 premium pull through, all paved, gazebo and fire pit
  • Hot tub, pool, kids play area, some sites have fenced in private use dog pens that are really nice.
  • Full hookups 30/50
  • Several washers and dryers, 2.25/load
  • Proximity to old town Albuquerque 18 mins
  • 6 mins to grocery stores
  • Plenty of nearby restaurants
  • We didn't get to go, but we are told the tramway road up to the top of the Sandia mountains is gorgeous. We had a sick child so we didn't get to venture out much.
  • Don't visit the home from Breaking Bad. Joanne the owner is nice, but she doesn't like the invasion of privacy anymore--she said fans act entitled and are rabidly mean when she shoos them away from her fence. I felt fortunate to spend 10 mins with her, and I learned an awful lot. If you insist on stopping by, drive by, don't stop, take a pic out the window and keep moving. As many as 100 cars drive by or stop on any given day. She is remodeling the exterior in 2022 to hopefully run off all fans.

Great review @Greg and LauraLee McNair - I've stayed at that KOA many times as we have family in the area.

Did you try the brewery next door? There's a gate in the KOA wall that you walk through to get to the brewery.

Also, in town, have you eaten at The Range Cafe? Love that place. They have a couple of locations in ABQ too.
