2024 Avenue 32RLS Heating issues

We have a 2024 Avenue 32RLS we purchased in Sept of this year and now that is it getting a bit cold, We are using the heater now and find that the only vents we have are 1 in the bedroom on the floor and 1 in the bathroom on the lower wall and the 2 vents at the end of the island. I don't think we have a vent at the base of the coffee bar. Now for the air flow issue. Our bathroom heater vent blows like there is no tomorrow (like an oven in there) and the bedroom vent blows ok but the 2 in the kitchen at the end of the island have just about no air flow coming out. I covered one vent on the island side near on the stove side to see if it would blow more hot air out to the living room area. I was looking at the vent connections at the heater and was wondering if anyone has thought about disconnecting the one hose that blows the hardest and connect it to the one connector on the heat unit that feeds the living room. Has anybody done this to get better air flow in the living room area and less in the bathroom ? I also looked under the island and the hot air that comes out of the vent just goes up into the island because there is no cover or anything to keep the heat from going up as heat rises. I have a call in to tech support at Alliance and will report back if there is an answer to the issue. Hopefully this is not too confusing. Thanks Alies

Think there is supposed to be some ducting under the sink?

please update as I am curious.
I do know my 32RLS has 2 vents at the end of the kitchen island at the bottom. Those vents barely blow any hot air out. Going to climb inside the storage compartment and wiggle through the water lines and get to the ducting that is connected to the heater and see whats up. May see if I can disconnect the one that goes to the bathroom and connect it to the one that feeds the kitchen island and see if it blows any better.

I also own a 32RLS. I have found it much easier to access the heater by going through the lower part of the pantry. By cutting the wall there cleanly I now have easy access to the heater by just removing the cutout.

Secondly I have found that the heat distribution vents under the kitchen island are fundamentally flawed. It just does not work to have air blow into a box and expect it to exit the vents with much force. I ended up removing the bottom drawer in the island to access the duct work. I cut the vent loose where it goes into the vent box. Then at one of the vents I pulled the flex duct to the vent outlet. I now have pretty good air flow from one side of the island.

I would also note that there is another thread discussing the heat problems in the 32 RLS that might help. The thread is

dwcfish, just getting ready to head south in our 2024 29RL and last sumer during our PDI noticed the extreme lack of air from our island duct work as well. The dealer got his Kestrel and assured me the airflow was up to specs! It looks as though the 2 models are almost identical other than front closet and slide. Any chance you could take a pic of your access in pantry so that i won't have to learn from my mistakes? Thanks, Mike

7ACMIKE - My access is about as basic as it can be. All I did was take a utility knife and gently cut the paneling, remove any screws they might have had in place. The paneling is so thin it can be cut with a sharp utility knife. I just put this back in place with 4 screws that I can easily remove when I need to access this area again - which I have had to do a number of times. It makes very easy access to the furnace and the associated duct work. Below is a picture from the other thread on the 32RLS Heat issue that I had posted that shows the access. You can screw the cut panel into the aluminum framing that is shown. If you want to see the other pics see the thread 32RLS Heat - Or Lack of it.

As a follow up to my post above regarding the heat at the kitchen island. Not sure what I posted would make sense, so the attached picture is the area under the bottom drawer in the kitchen island. What I did was to break the duct loose in the area circled in red. There is a lot of slack in this duct work. I then went around to the other side of the island and removed the vent cover, reached in and pulled the duct work until it was flush with where the vent cover attaches. Then I used aluminum duct tape - not the grey kind but the actual aluminum tape - to secure it in place and replaced the vent cover. I now get a decent amount of air flow out of this. I think the original setup would have worked if the vent had been at the end of island instead of on the sides. Also, I did go back and add aluminum tape to the duct work under the island in the red area to keep it from moving.

Great picture it really shows the issue. can you remove the grate from the toe kick area of the island and grab the flex duct without
removing the floor of the cabinet?
If you could pull the duct through you could potential wire it to the grate and get more direct air flow into the living space.
Looks like Alliance basically stuffs the duct into the cabinet without actually attaching it to anything.
Hoping the heated air will magically find its way to the living space!

Lantley - Right, except I used the aluminum tape to attach the duct directly behind the grate and the put the grate back in place. And yes you can grap the flex duct through the vent hole.
